It's Been A While

It's been a while since I made a blog post. So much going on in the news...depressing at that. First, the deaths of Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson were difficult to absorb. May they RIP. Our brave troops continue to risk their lives in harms way. Health care, foreign relations, and the economy are still plaguing everyday ordinary people. What does one do to escape from it all even if only for a little while.....you guessed it.....knit.

I've had several WIPs OTN since my last post. Some have actually turned into FOs, while others remains "in progress". For starters, I completed CeCe. (pattern byBonne Marie Burns)

Here's my first one, worked up in Plymouth wildflower DK.
This was fun because its worked in one piece. The yarn has a nice drape and subtle sheen.

Since this one has short sleeves, I wanted to make another with longer sleeves. This one has 3/4" sleeves and was knit with CotLin from KnitPicks. I'd never used CotLin before either and found it to be really pleasant and easy to work with.

I'd gotten kinda burned out from knitting sweaters and hats, so I've cast on for Girasole by Jared Flood, Brooklyn Tweed. I've decided to go for the blanket size to use as an accent for the sofa. It's such a beautiful pattern that I may even let someone use it. LOL! I decided to go with Cascade 220 in Tumeric, a dark
mustard color. It's working up really nice and I'm anxious to get it finished...hopefully before October.

That's about it for now. I've got other projects on Ravelry here.
Miss ya MJ!
